Host of Good Evening Ghana Paul Adom Otchere has dismissed media reports that the officers of Special Prosecutor spent 5 hours counting more money in Cecilia Dapaah’s house.

In his opening remarks before starting his show Mr. Adom Otchere said ‘let me just put this out, it is false”

TV3, one of the leading TV stations in Ghana, had earlier reported that more cash had been found at the residence of the Former Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources. The report further stated that the cash was so much that officers from the Office of the Special Prosecutor spent 5 hours counting the money.

“The search at her residence yesterday, a lot more cash has been discovered and it took the officials of the Special Prosecutor 5 hours alone in counting this amount of cash which was discovered in her home” TV3 said on their station.

But Paul Adom Otchere says that it is false and TV3 as a reputable organisation should do better or provide the details of the information they put out.

“This story that money counting that took 5 hours is false, its absolutely not true’ Paul said on Good Evening Ghana”

“The special prosecutor says it is untrue. If TV3 can tell us where this is coming from. All our sources say it is untrue”

Madam Abena Dapaah tendered her resignation on Saturday, July 22, barely 24 hours after the public discourse on her stolen millions of cash.

The Chronicle newspaper reports that two househelps – Patience Botwe, 18, and Sarah Agyei, 30 – are currently facing one count of conspiracy to commit a crime and five counts of stealing, involving amounts of US$1 million, €300,000, and millions of Ghana Cedis.

Madam Dapaah and her husband reported the theft case to the police in June of this year after Cecilia Dapaah’s husband – Osei Kuffour caught one of the accused [Patience Botwe] red-handed in their room with a duplicate key, leading to her arrest.

The amount of money involved received public condemnation. The public uproar forced the then Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources to resign.

The office of the Special Prosecutor subsequently arrested and bailed her.

She is currently on bail assisting with investigations.
